Shelby and John met at the Beach Movie Bistro in Virginia Beach Virginia, (then the Surf-N-Sand) movie theater, when they were working together several years ago. I would love to tell you it was love at first sight, but John was late for his shift and he was supposed to be Shelby’s relief…so the first time they met, she was a pretty annoyed with him. 🙂 Luckily, she was able to forgive and forget and a romance blossomed from there. Some time later, Shelby had just finished taking a final for one of her Graduate classes and the two of them were headed to NC to visit friends, when John convinced her they had to stop at the theater to grab some gift certificates. She really didn’t want to, but finally gave in, and when they got there he walked her up to that same box office where they met, got down on one knee, pulled out a custom-made Claddagh ring and proposed. Of course she said YES!!! And when I heard this story, I knew there was no better place to do their Engagement session! Joe Donahue, the Food & Beverage Manager was more than accommodating, and it was a great time hanging out with Shelby & John! I can’t wait for their wedding!!
