Betsy & Stephanie | Union Oregon Wedding

Betsy is one of my west coast cousins. Our Dad’s are first cousins so that makes us some sort of second cousin removed or something like that. I don’t know a lot about how the Family tree works, but I know we are Family. And when Betsy asked me if I would come out to La Grande and Union Oregon to photograph her and her Fiancee Stephanie’s wedding, I was absolutely THRILLED!!! First of all, I would get to hang out with Family that I don’t get to see very often. Secondly, Oregon is one of my favorite places! It is stunningly beautiful! Third, I would get to document pure, honest LOVE between two amazing people! And Fourth, I got to take my kids to see a new part of the country and they got to work with me. Talk about winning!!

Stephanie and Betsy are absolutely perfect for one another. They are so thoughtful towards each other and they absolutely were made to be together. I loved watching them dote over one another all weekend.

Leading up to the big day the temp was 105* but on the wedding day, the heat broke and it was just the most perfect day for a wedding, ever! I loved that they got married at Catherine Creek State Park, where Stephanie used to run cross country. (She even brought her shoes for some nostalgic shots of her running.) It is a gorgeous park and there wasn’t a bad place to take photos.

Their reception was in the backyard of a Family friend of Stephanie’s, and it was honestly the prettiest place for a reception. All of their family pitched in to hang lights, put out linens, cook food, make bouquets, and Stephanie and her Dad even made some of the tables. It was truly a Family affair and exactly what a wedding should be!

Thank you both for choosing me to be a part of so much LOVE! It was an absolute pleasure to be surrounded and enveloped in all of it all weekend and it truly filled me and the kids souls with happiness! We LOVE you all so much! XOXO!!
