I absolutely LOVE homecomings. It is so great to see families reunited after months and months of not being able to see or touch one another. It is always such an emotional day, full of anticipation, excitement, and a little agony as everyone waits as patiently as possible for their sailor to come home safely. Kait & Justin are from Ohio and Justin’s Parents and Sister also made the trip down to Norfolk Virginia to welcome him home. Justin’s call sign is “Cinderella” so they made some great signs, got dressed up and then made the early morning trek to the base to see Justin fly-in. Justin is a pilot with the VAW-124 Bear Aces, and had been deployed for 9 long months. It was a VERY CHILLY morning and it even spit out some icy rain as I made my way to the base. But the weather did not dampen anyone’s spirits. When the planes finally flew overhead everyone was full of tears of joy and relief. Once the plane doors opened it was a mad rush to hug a loved one and as always I cried like a big baby! Thank you Justin for your service to our Country. My Family appreciates all you have done for our freedom. And thank you Kait for sacrificing your time with your Hubby. We appreciate you too!! So glad you are all reunited!! Happy Homecoming!! XOXO!
