WOW! 12 years really flew by. I swear it was just yesterday that I was pulling up to the hospital, with your entourage. We were all so excited to meet you. And now you are 12 years old! Time flies so fast it just isn’t fair! I love that right now you still enjoy hanging out with me. That you tell me all about your day when you get in the car after whatever sport you are doing is over. I love that we read together and talk about ideas that you are learning in school. I love to go places with you and see your curiosity about the world around you. I love that your sense of humor is developing and that sometimes you even make dirty jokes! I love that you give 100% of your effort to the things that you try and even when you aren’t good at them initially, you keep giving the same enthusiasm to them. I love that you think about other people’s feelings and consider that into whatever equation you are working on in your daily middle school life. I love that you sing to yourself in the shower and that you whip and nae nae in the middle of the kitchen while we make dinner. I love that you are so helpful around the house. I know that someday you will want to spend less time with me and might even think I am *gasp* uncool. And that’s okay! I expect it to happen. But I will forever cherish this time that we have because you are one special human and every single day I am proud to know you! Keep being you, Truman! Happy Birthday and I love you, Mom!
