41!! Yep that is the number that I own today. I am officially OVER 40. GOSH! That happened fast! I was just 21 yesterday, and Jay was telling me “NO, you can NOT sleep in that snow drift…” Then I was 26, and hugely pregnant with Morgan. Then I hit my 30’s and I was even more HUGELY pregnant with Truman. All of this happened in the blink of an eye…and now I am 41…and I have a 14 year old and a 9 year old…and Jay STILL won’t let me sleep in snow drifts…
Having a birthday at the beginning of the year, 10 days after Christmas, has always been the bane of my existence. No one wants to celebrate…too pooped from the Christmas season. Everyone is poor. People are in blah moods from Winter and darkness. One year when I was a kid, we had a snowstorm on my birthday and no one could come to my party. 🙁 I had seriously considered changing my Birthday to a Summer date (in observance) so that I could finally enjoy my Birthday. But this year, I think I actually like my birthday being at the beginning of the year. I get a new beginning every year as I turn one year older. Like I get a clean slate every year on my birthday. I can fill it up with my hopes and dreams for the upcoming year. So I think I will keep January 5th…as long as Jay promises to never get me Burrito’s…ever again!
