10 Years ago today…Jay, Morgan and I were all full of excitement about meeting the last puzzle piece that completes the Skaggs Family. (Well, besides Wilbur of course!) We drove to Chesapeake General for our scheduled C-section…and were all full of laughter and joy. It was such a different experience, than when we went to meet Morgan. We were scared to death when Morgan was born, because we had no idea what to expect. But with Truman, we had all been through it before, so the pressure was really off. Truman came into this world at 2:35 on 1/23/04 and absolutely rocked our world. He is so sweet, loving, kind, energetic, funny, smart and always concerned about others. He is one of the most empathetic people I know. His ability to put himself in another person’s situation and care how they are feeling is something that more people in the world should possess. Just the other day, I was working outside at a particularly cold photo shoot. When I got done, he called me to ask how I was. I told him I was freezing. He said…”just get home, Mom, I have a warming station and a snuggle station all set up for you!” When I walked in the door, he had blankets everywhere! It was SO SWEET!! He is also very sensitive and definitely wears his heart on his sleeve. And he is a hard worker and when he decides he wants something…NOTHING stands in his way. He makes me proud to be his Mother daily!
Oh, and every year on his Birthday, he asks me for extra snuggle time (1 minute for every year older that he is). He is super excited that this year he gets a full 10 minutes of snuggle time. Truth be told, I am even more excited! I know that soon enough he will not be asking me for snuggles anymore. So I will enjoy every single minute I can get!
