I LOVE Homecomings!! The emotions, the excitement, it feels like electricity in the air! When the VFA-136 Knighthawks flew home to Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia, after a 8.5 month deployment, even the terrible weather did not change that feeling of palpable anticipation in the air! The kids played some games and colored, trying to pass the time, while their Mom’s waited for the hanger to open. When it was finally time for their loved ones to come, the rain and wind decided to blow even harder, making it impossible to have the traditional “fly over.” But, that didn’t deter everyone from running out to greet their hero once they were safe and sound on the ground. There were tears of joy, lots of hugs and kisses and so much happiness to have all of those Families reunited a few days before Thanksgiving! Thank you all for your service and sacrifice. My Family appreciates you more than words can say!
