I was absolutely so honored to be a part of this Naval Retirement Ceremony in Virginia Beach, Virginia for this amazing Family! Damien has been serving our country and protecting our freedom for 20 years and listening to the speakers talk about him and seeing the traditions surrounding the ceremony was so moving. Someone handed me a tissue before the ceremony started and I am so glad they did!! At one point I was crying so hard, my nose was running!! Watching the flag passing ceremony while “Old Glory” was being read in the background was literally breathtaking. When The Watch was read by one of his fellow sailors and then they piped him ashore and I was moved beyond belief for this Family and all of their sacrifices over the years to our country. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done, given up, witnessed, and all you will continue to do! And thank you for letting me be a part of this. It was truly a beautiful ceremony and I will never forget you all!
