When Patti contacted me about photographing her GrandSon’s, there was stress in her email. She told me of her horror stories from previous photo shoots. She was warning me that this had not gone well in the past for them. I assured her that this experience would not be the same with me, and that she should not worry. When the boys got out of the car at our Norfolk Virginia location, I was waiting to find 4 rowdy boys that I couldn’t control, but that was so NOT the case. What I did find were 4 really fun, energetic boys that liked to have their photos taken, when there was no pressure to it still and pose. These boys were GREAT! They were helpful, they listened, they even sat still for some individual portraits. When you have 4 boys all under 6 years old, you have to change your expectation of what a “good” portrait is. Let them be themselves, don’t make them sit still, let them run and jump and play…these make the best pictures anyway…Thanks for letting me change your expectation about family portraits and for getting that twitch out of your Daughter’s eye! I absolutely adored your boys!
