I have been photographing this Family since I decided to do this full-time. So it is such an honor for me, not only to be able to document Marty coming home…but just to be a small part of such a HUGE event in Brentton, Grae & Sawyer’s lives. When we got out of the car, in Norfolk Virginia, it was a nice day but a bit blustery…Brentton’s started to shiver. He turned to me and his Mom and said “I am shivering…I am shivering with JOY!” Then he smiled the biggest smile ever! I think that absolutely sums up how everyone was feeling!! Once they opened the hanger, you could literally feel everyone shivering with joy awaiting their loved one. The planes flew over a couple of times then they landed, and it honestly sounded like we were invaded by the hugest swarm of bees ever. They were Buzzing. After the propellers stopped moving and the Hero’s came off the Aircraft…the Family members were allowed to run to them. I honestly could not keep the tears back…they flowed freely. It was a very moving moment watching the kids reunite with Marty. Sawyer never let him go, once her got a hold of him, and after Marty got hugs and kisses from the rest of the Family…he even took me on a tour of the plane. Very COOL! Thanks so much for your service to our country, for your sacrifice. We are so thankful to have you keeping us safe but sure are happy you are home for Christmas! XOXO!!!
